Multi-account trading on Kotak Neo
Cirrus places orders on Kotak Neo through the Neo Trade API, Kotak's official API. You create a Trade API app once in Kotak Neo, paste its access token into Cirrus, whitelist your Cirrus static IP on it, and log in from Cirrus Manager each morning with your mobile number, TOTP and MPIN.

How to connect Kotak Neo

In the Kotak Neo app or website, open More → Trade API → API Dashboard, click Create Application and copy the access token it shows.

Register TOTP once: in the API Dashboard menu open TOTP Registration, verify with your mobile number, OTP and client code, then scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator.

In Cirrus, open Manager, choose Add broker and pick Kotak Neo. Enter your client ID, a label and the Trade API access token.

On the Trade API page, click Add IP and enter the Cirrus static IP as the Primary Static IP.

Click Login on the account and enter your mobile number, the 6-digit TOTP from your authenticator app and your MPIN.

Sign in again each trading day, when the broker ends the previous session.
Whitelist the static IP

In Cirrus Manager, assign a static IP to the Kotak Neo account. Cirrus gives it a dedicated IPv6 address that no one else uses.

Copy the IPv6 address shown for that account. That is the address the broker sees.

Paste it into the Primary Static IP field under More → Trade API in Kotak Neo and save.

Finish setup in Cirrus. From then on, every order to this account leaves from that address.

What you can do with Kotak Neo
Good to know
- Kotak Neo accepts orders (place, modify, cancel) only from a whitelisted IP, on a session created from that same IP. Cirrus logs you in through your static IP, so register it before your first order.
- Kotak lets you whitelist up to two IPs and change them once every 7 days, and you need to log in again after a change. Register the Cirrus IP once and leave it.
- Kotak converts market orders into limit orders with a price protection band, and bracket and cover orders are no longer available on the Trade API.

Why does Kotak Neo ask for TOTP and MPIN?
Kotak Neo's Trade API logs in with your registered mobile number, a 6-digit TOTP from your authenticator app and your MPIN rather than a browser redirect. You enter them in Cirrus Manager when you log in each day.
Do I need a Trade API access token for Kotak Neo?
Yes. Create the app under More → Trade API → API Dashboard → Create Application in Kotak Neo and paste its access token into Cirrus when you add the account. No API secret is needed.
Does Kotak Neo accept an IPv6 static IP?
Yes. Kotak Neo whitelists both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, so enter the static IP Cirrus shows for your account, whichever type it is.
