Algo trading on Motilal Oswal with Cirrus

Motilal Oswal connects with the API key and API secret key from your Motilal Oswal API account, plus a redirect URL and a postback URL that Cirrus generates for you. The postback carries order updates back, so Motilal fills show up next to your other accounts.

How to connect Motilal Oswal

  1. In Cirrus, open Manager, choose Add broker and pick Motilal Oswal.

  2. Copy the redirect URL and postback URL Cirrus shows into your Motilal Oswal API settings.

  3. Enter your client ID, a label, your API key and your API secret key.

  4. Sign in with Motilal Oswal to start the session. Sign in again each trading day, when the broker ends the previous session.

Whitelist the static IP

  1. In Cirrus Manager, assign a static IP to the Motilal Oswal account. Cirrus gives it a dedicated IPv4 address that no one else uses.

  2. Copy the IPv4 address shown for that account.

  3. Paste it into the static IP or IP whitelisting setting of your Motilal Oswal API access and save. If you cannot find it, Motilal Oswal support can point you to it.

  4. Finish setup in Cirrus. From then on, every order to this account leaves from that address.

Motilal Oswal checks the secret key on order and margin requests. Without it the account connects but cannot trade, so Cirrus asks for it up front.
