GRD securities Broker: An Overview
GRD Securities Ltd is a Kolkata based full-service brokerage firm, part of the GRD Group established in 2000. They offer a comprehensive suite of services, including equity, derivatives (F&O), currency, and commodity trading across NSE, BSE, MCX, and MSEI, alongside depository services, investment advisory, IPOs, mutual funds, bonds, and fixed income instruments. The firm serves retail investors, HNI’s, corporate, and institutional clients, with a reputation for leveraging technology and research-based value investing. GRD also operates GRD Commodities Ltd for commodity trades and GRD Securities IFSC Ltd for international F&O and currency trading from its Gift SEZ office in Gujarat. They support services like margin trading, depository operations including demat, remat, pledging, e-voting, and tailored financing or advisory solutions. However, in September 2024, SEBI imposed a ₹9 lakh penalty on GRD Securities for regulatory infractions. These included improper segregation of client funds, delayed settlements of funds and securities, incorrect margin reporting, and KYC compliance deficiencies

What you will need to add GRD (XTS) account in Cirrus
- You need to have a Cirrus Account. If you don't have one, follow the LINK.
• You need to have an active Demat account in GRD securities. If you don’t have an account, create an account on GRD securities. Make sure to activate F&O on your account.
• Go to https://trade.grdgroupz.com/#!/app and sign in to your account using appropriate Login ID and Password.

• Create a New App: Click the create new app button as per given image below

• Enter the required fields of data into it after clicking on create new app. Make sure you choose app for “Interactive Data API”

• Once created app, copy the API key and API Secret for further use.

• Then, we should paste them into Cirrus Page.

1. Who can open a trading account with GRD?
Both residents and NRIs—individuals or entities like firms and companies—can open a trading account with GRD. You can register online or call them to get account-opening forms.
2. What documents are required to open a trading or DP account?
For trading accounts, you'll need ID proof (PAN, passport, driver’s license) and address proof (e.g. utility bill, bank statement). For demat (DP) accounts, you'll also need a passport-size photograph and a cancelled cheque.
3. How do margin and trading limits work?
GRD calculates your trading limits based on your deposited margin—typically 15% of the intended trade size—and allows you to pledge existing shares (usually from NSE top 500 stocks) for additional exposure.
4. How secure are online trading credentials?
Your password is system-generated and encrypted. Upon your first login, you must reset it. If you forget your password, you can recover it via hint questions and receive a reset link by email.
5. Which markets and products can I trade through GRD?
GRD offers internet trading for cash equities, futures & options, and commodities via NSE, BSE, MCX, and NCDEX. They also plan to integrate depository services soon and support linked banking for online fund transfers.
