Read the option chain, PCR and max pain before you pick strikes
Options analytics in the same app you trade from: open interest by strike, change in OI, put-call ratio and max pain, a live chain with Greeks, and a market overview with breadth and movers.
A live option chain you can trade from
The chain is where most F&O decisions start, so it is connected to your accounts.
- NIFTY, BANKNIFTY and SENSEX
- A live option chain that updates as the market moves, strike by strike around the money.
- OI view and Greeks view
- Switch between open interest and the Greeks: delta, gamma, theta, vega and implied volatility.
- PCR and total OI at a glance
- The put-call ratio and total call and put open interest sit at the foot of the chain.
- Trade from the strike
- Buy, sell or add any strike to a basket straight from the chain.
OI, PCR and max pain, calculated for you
The numbers options traders check every morning, without a spreadsheet.
- Open interest by strike
- Call and put OI side by side, so the strikes where positions are concentrated stand out.
- Change in OI
- Where open interest is being added or cut today, which tells you more than the total alone.
- Put-call ratio, explained
- PCR is total put open interest divided by total call open interest. Cirrus shows the number with a plain-language reading of what it suggests.
- Max pain
- The strike at which option buyers as a whole would lose the most, and writers keep the most, if the index expired there.
The rest of the market
Context before you trade the index.
- Market overview
- Index cards, market breadth (advances, declines, unchanged) and the day’s FII and DII figures.
- Top gainers and losers
- Today’s movers, with each stock’s 52-week high and low beside it.

Questions traders ask
What is PCR and how do I read it?
PCR, the put-call ratio, is total put open interest divided by total call open interest. Traders often read a higher PCR as more put writing, which some treat as support, but it is one input, not a signal on its own.
What is max pain in options?
Max pain is the strike at which the total value of open options would be lowest at expiry, meaning option buyers as a group would lose the most. Cirrus calculates it for you.
Which indices does the option chain cover?
NIFTY, BANKNIFTY and SENSEX, with OI, Greeks, PCR and total OI.
Can I place a trade from the option chain?
Yes. Every strike has buy, sell and add-to-basket actions, and orders go to the accounts you choose like any other Cirrus order.
Is this investment advice?
No. Cirrus is a technology platform. Analytics show market data and standard calculations; what you trade is your decision.
